About the role
The educational volunteers assist the Column education officer in delivering educational visits to schools and groups. It is therefore important that they like children and are confident supervising school children. During the visits, the groups are generally split up to do different activities, but the volunteers are not expected to lead any groups.
Requirements for this role
• Enjoy working with school aged children
• Be comfortable supervising groups of up to 7 children
• Be enthusiastic about history and the outdoors
• Being bi-lingual would be useful but not essential
Why volunteer with us?
By joining us you will gain work experience, engage with the community, spend your free time doing something worthwhile, learn new skills, expand your CV and become more employable, make new social connections, and be a part of an ionic piece of Anglesey’s history.
Times and commitment required
We are committed to providing a thankful and appreciative approach to volunteering. Educational visits are on Mondays and Tuesdays and take around 3 hours. Depending on the number of volunteers that we have, you may only need to attend once every couple of weeks, even once per month. Please discuss this further with the Volunteer Officer at the time of application. Every hour of support will make a difference.
